Photographer's Diary
These photos are part of a four-year documentation project focused on the Myanmar military coup and its devastating impact. Since 2021, I have been capturing the lives of Myanmar’s people during this ongoing crisis, highlighting their resilience through their diverse professions. Over these years, while traveling across the country, I have met filmmakers, doctors, journalists, young soldiers, teachers, and many others.
Throughout this journey, I have witnessed firsthand how war and dictatorship have shattered lives, families, and communities. Everything familiar has been torn apart, leaving behind fear, loss, and uncertainty. Yet, despite the immense challenges, many young people and professionals from various fields continue to fight for justice in their own ways.
The military junta has not only targeted battlefields but has also deliberately attacked civilian areas, including hospitals, schools, and villages. Over the past four years, thousands of children have lost their lives, a tragic testament to the brutal violence inflicted on innocent civilians.
My aim is to publish a photobook that serves as a personal photographic diary, capturing these memories and significant moments. This collection offers a glimpse into the resilience and courage of Myanmar’s people amid conflict. These images represent only a portion of this long-term photobook project.
