As a place that doesn’t exist, a metaphorical journey where different times coexist, images open secret passages between conscious and subconscious. Kid’s playful constructs contrast with the architecture of a transforming female body. Womb is a project that searches for traces of how I felt while becoming a mother, reinterpreting metaphorically the changes in the psychological and morphological construction. Shapes and motifs repeat in an attempt to reconstruct the memory of a precarious balance that characterised that period of my life - and that of many other women - motherhood. The project flows between layers of words, archival black and white pictures and yet vivid present, confronting the overlapping of the time, changes and dreams. Through a scaffolding built of emotions and feelings, the womb, like a mystical portal, opens up to make room for a new life.
