The Abortion Plot
Abortion is a political issue. If a government shifts to the right, access to abortion is often made more difficult or abolished altogether. As many are currently looking towards the US, where reproductive rights are being threatened by the current government, changes are under way in European countries, too. While many countries like Italy or Poland are tightening their laws, others, such as Sweden or the Netherlands, keep pursuing a liberal practice. As its name suggests, The Abortion Plot traces who is behind these decisions, who is affected by the consequences, who manages to organize politically – and how these networks are connected across borders. Moreover, the long-term project aims to show what abortion often looks like: from mundane doctor's appointments to intimate moments at home.
