Broken Bodies, Unbroken Lives

Broken Bodies, Unbroken Lives is a long-term documentary photography project exploring the lives of civilians and children who lost limbs during the Syrian war in northwest Syria.

Photographed over several years inside refugee camps, damaged towns, and temporary shelters, the project focuses on life after survival rather than the immediate violence of war. Through intimate visual storytelling, the work documents resilience, dignity, family, childhood, and adaptation in communities permanently shaped by conflict.

The photographs portray individuals not only as victims, but as people rebuilding everyday life despite physical loss and emotional trauma. The project reflects on the lasting consequences of war and the human capacity to continue living under extremely difficult circumstances.
