Reminiscences
‘‘Reminiscences’’ is a quest for memories that evoke my grandmother, who she was and what she focused on in the last decades of her life, when I knew her. Imbued with humanity, she cultivated the values of simplicity, sharing and generosity with others and those close to her.
These are the values she passed on to me, and which have endured through the years, both those spent with her and those that followed her absence.
These images reveal places and objects that represent my grandmother and the bond I had with her. Some places are directly linked to her, others are symbolic.
The landscapes depict the surroundings of her home: the chapel at the tip of the beach a few kilometers away, the field where she grew a few vegetables to feed her family, the castle of Duchess Anne de Bretagne where she sometimes took us for a walk...
The still lifes of the objects I've chosen form a corpus of memories that become evanescent, in the softness of the pinhole, as my memory fades.
