Electromagnetic hypersensitivity

The forest is now his home, the radio holes his refuge. He has been living in a caravan for 15 years, even though Ulrich's greatest wish is to live in a house, shielded from the radiation that makes him sick. He has no telephone and no fixed abode. He lives a secluded life in search of the few radio holes that still exist in Germany. Ulrich is electrosensitive. Electromagnetic radiation makes him weak and attacks his nervous system. He can no longer concentrate, gets visual disturbances and it is difficult for him to formulate sentences. If he does not avoid the radiation, he gets severe headaches and cardiac arrhythmias until a complete breakdown. He leaves the radio hole only with a protective suit that reflects the radiation back. According to the Federal Office for Radiation Protection, two percent of Germans describe themselves as electrosensitive. They all have a common problem; electrosensitivity is not recognized as a disease in Germany. The affected people are looking for their shelters and are doing educational work. Ulrich is one of the best known in this field. As a former technology freak and mobile phone expert, he knows his stuff well. As a young entrepreneur, he sold mobile phone contracts all over Germany. When he realized that he was too exposed to radiation, he stopped his business and had to quit. Since then he lives isolated and tries to educate people about the matter of electromagnetic radiation.
