Trail of Blood
Intergenerational hatred and violence often transmute, with the historical past. On 16th August 1946, as India headed towards partition, Calcutta witnessed the biggest Hindu-Muslim riot, which led to the deaths of more than 4000 people and is ominously known as the Great Calcutta Killing. It marked an apex point amid the series of mass-scale communal violence during that period which determined India's fate and gave birth to the extremism of religious identity. Trail of Blood is an attempt at recreating and reconnecting those collective memories with the current contemporary situations of India where those memories kept silent for generations.
