To Suffer, to Believe, and Enjoy
Colombia is a country of strong contrasts, where violence and hope coexist in the same space, and where suffering, faith, and celebration shape the paths of its people.
Places marked by colonialism build their identity from a wound, a fracture between what is theirs and what is imposed; that wound never fully heals.
This long-term project talks about the scars of a country marked by conflict since its inception, where the people have imposed pain on their own people throughout history, from colonization to the current war on drug trafficking.
A place where faith becomes a refuge from uncertainty; where the Catholic religion mixes with myths and rituals, weaving a world that fuses the sacred and the everyday, creating a reality where the invisible also comes to life.
A country where music, dance, and the proximity of death fuel the desire to enjoy everyday life.
This project seeks to understand where and how Hope is born?
How do we maintain joy and hope while living in such a harsh and cruel environment?
