Daniela's story
It all started in Burgos (Spain), that day when a 56-year-old woman, whom I did not know, asked me to take photos, especially of her face. In the same session, she confessed to me that due to the chemotherapy treatment the bones of her face were in danger of weakening and eventually disfiguring her face. She didn't want to forget how she was.
That same day, “Daniela´s story” was born.
Daniela faces an extreme situation when she is diagnosed with “brain cancer”. From that moment, her life revolves around the hospital where her chemotherapy treatment will make her days a real roller coaster, not only for its effects, but for meeting death face to face, making her past always present and because of that her future is an essential wish.
Daniela's Story is a visual story that is the product of empathy in front of a camera that becomes endearing through the bond generated in numerous encounters for more than a year and a half. It is a story about the harshness of tumor diseases, which shows what the day-to-day life of the people who suffer them is like, a story of family, fear and love.
